Here are some big trends coming our way for everybody in the U.S. According to Bill Gates, “the tomorrow pc will be your cell phone (smart phones, pda, mobile device)” Microsoft is hard at work on getting the big contracts in the mobile phone technology.

Currently, Microsoft has its “cloud computing” and making wave. Google offers word documents, spreadsheet, power point presentation for web apps. Google Android 2.0, a Operating System for mobile phones is making upgrades and Google is allowing developers to add to its open source. Google is also working on coming out with their “Chrome OS” for netbooks.

Netbooks are the next wave of laptops that are specifically design for web apps, not your normal desktop use.

So what does all this have anything to do with Search Marketing and Search Engine optimization on your website? Everything, it is where our pc and web technology is headed.

Gadget, pc’s are getting smaller and slimmer. Right now developers are hard at work to make improvements for mobile devices operating system. In a few years or less, everyone in the U.S. will have access to the internet on their mobile devices.

Let us restate this fact, this is what consumers are searching for locally on their mobile device:

  • Services – plumbers, car locked out, towing services, West Coast Vinyl window
  • Travel – when, where, which flight to take and how much?
  • Entertainment – movie theaters, UFC fights, casinos

In a nutshell, it doesn’t matter what your business is. If you have a website, you should be optimizing your service or product to be placed in the major search engines.  This is where we’re headed!
